MUSE MUSE MUSE

I'm not entirely sure why, but earlier today I had a sudden urge to learn lots of Muse on the piano, so i listened to some Muse songs, to try and find any parts that could be played on piano...

Obviously there's that part in 'Hoodoo', with the really dramatic piano chords, but then I thought,
'Wait, what about the synth throughout 'Take a bow'?'

But then I listened to the whole thing through, listening just to the synth bit.

Dear GOD it's hard.

But I've started to learn it nonetheless, after learning 'Uprising' a while back, and I'm beginning to think (apart from hoodoo) That any muse songs I learn will always be the synth bit.

SO MUCH SYNTH.

Well, I suppose I could learn the lyrics too, and try and sing it and play it on the piano at the same time.

Like that's gonna happen.

I've also started to learn 'One' by Metallica on the guitar.

It's pretty frickin shweet.

But the song I've always wanted to play on the guitar is 'Assassin' by Muse, it just sounds so awesome!

Any other songs by Muse that have realy awesome synth/piano parts, that I've probably forgotten but you haven't, please post in the comments below ↓

Oh, yes, and for those of you who either weren't aware, or plainly don't follow them, the Platoon of Power Squadron is uploading their fourth episode at the moment.
You can go to part one of that here, and if you've never heard of this show before, click here to go to the first episode.

Touché Ipods

Well, Christmas is over now... Time to get back to our usual routine...

After we finish using our presents!

I'm sure most of you got stuff that you really liked, and you're going to be using this stuff for a good while.

Eventually you'll forget about all the other things you used to use everyday.
You'll become addicted to whatever it is you've gotten.
This has already happened to me.

I think it's about time for a new post.

Well, the snowmobile never got any pics taken of it, and a few days ago I took it apart, thinking there wouldn't be any more snow.

Well, if you don't go to FCJ, let me fill you in.

Got to school, It's EFFING COLD, and I get my tech graph books and head over to the tech graph room. Eventually, 10 minutes late, Mr. O'Sullivan comes along and we go inside.

About ten minutes later, someone says "Guys, look outside!"

GODDAMNIT MICROSOFT WORD!!!

As you can probably tell, I'm not very fond of Microsoft Word...
Two pages of work done, and then the little box came up telling me about the error report, with the buttons, and .

Don't bother clicking them, they don't lead anywhere...

Yet.

But anyway, I try to get back to the document, and it's all like "Not responding!".

I just realised that saying "not responding" is a response.

Like saying something is "indescribable" is describing it.

lol

So anyway, I click , and the whole thing closes down.

It's as if I'm writing an essay and someone comes and makes the paper I'm writing on clean again, and I'm all like "But I-... b-... wh-... I-..."

I'm getting some orange juice...

More snow? You've got to be kidding me...

Forecasts say that snow is probably going to fall on Monday, and until then it's going to just thaw a bit...

More school off?

Boo shaka!

Hmm.. I was going to do a post on showing other peoples blogs on mine to hopefully increase the amount of people that know about them, but then I realised that just about everyone that follows my blog only does so because they either follow a blog I follow or they themselves blog, the latter of the two being the more popular, apparently...

If you happened to stumble across this blog, however, almost all of the people on the top right who follow me have awesome blogs, and deserve a looking into..

However, if you don't stumble across this blog, as in, you have never seen this blog before, then you shouldn't really be reading this, as it defies the laws of logic.

Well, only a little bit, I suppose...

I have absolutely no idea what to do for my science practicals.

No, seriously, I haven't a clue.

Still taking song suggestions for the Wexford Pop Choir for our concert in February, and will be for quite a while, I guess...

A bit shorter

I'm getting the impression that I should make my posts a little bit shorter...

Or maybe more than a little bit...

Anyway, still taking ideas for songs for choir, as our show in Dec. is cancelled, and one of our songs was only suitable for Christmas.
Any ideas would be good.

Within reason, anyway...

I really hope this snow can keep til the weekend; If you don't already know, all 3rd and 6th years have lots of work to do, because the teachers in our school hate us and decided to give us the work OVER THE FRIGGIN INTERNET!!!

Grr...

Please leave any ideas in the comments below ↓

Zombies have rights too!

Nazi zombies on call of duty may be fun, but is it saying that no one else was made into a zombie? Or is it that all the other zombies aren't bothered to try and kill you? And do these other zombies still have human instincts? Can they feel emotion? Just because they're zombies doesn't mean they don't have rights! It doesn't mean they can't love!

...

Hello, and welcome to my blag!

Anyway, on to the progress on Cosmhór:

...

Er... Where did I leave off? Oh, yes, I had doubled the track size...

Ooh, that was a while back...

Let me think... Ah yes, I got a lot of pins and made it double size... Then I proceeded to change the motors.

Up until then, I had been using quite small motors, and geared it down lots, meaning it went at an alright speed, with a good enough amount of power, and the battery lasted for quite a while...

But I could do better.

Concerning Labels, Surface Area and Birthday Parties

Oh my, the family issue has appeared to have gone away for the time being, so back to the build of Cosmhór (like the name?)

Well, Though I did get to test it for a bit today, I forgot to bring any form of camera with me, so still no pics...

=[

However, a fresh fall of snow had fallen in the hours before my test, and so the snow was very... soft.

It sunk right in.
So, I realised I needed modifications...

Again.

I'm sorry about this, but I won't be posting anything for a while, due to a family issue.
Will return to normal posting once it is dealt with, which will take, most likely, a few days.

I forgot to title my previous post... Silly me

Well, as you can see from the lack of pics, I didn't get to test my snowmobile outside yet...
Instead, I made more modifications.

FIRSTLY: Originally, the treads were powered by a six tooth sprocket, which rotates at 80 rpm (powered by a 400 rpm motor) and that translates to 480 tread pieces a minute speed, and since each tread piece is about 12mm long, that translates to...
5760 mm a minute...
...
96mm/s
...
0.096m/s
...
...
...
0.345km/h...
It was so SLOW!!!

SECONDLY: The six tooth sprocket was quite low down, almost in line with two other sprockets on the tread (well, actually it was at about 160°), and so could slip if under enough pressure

THIRDLY: The sheer torque of the treads were well powerful enough (save for the slippage mentioned earlier) to overcome any obstacle it may encounter, unless it could not grip the surface (very unlikely in the snow)

Taking into account all of these things, I changed the shape of the tread slightly to changed the overall vehicle's performance.

First, I switched the 6 tooth sprocket for the only other available sprocket size, a 10 tooth, meaning it goes nearly twice the speed.

(Ok, ok, it still only goes at 0.575km/h, but still, better than before.)

Second, I changed the distance the front sprocket was away from the chassis (There's a diagram to explain it coming up in a second), bringing it much closer, and therefore reducing the the angle at the driving gear down to about 110°, giving the sprocket much more surface area on the tread, and so stopping the annoying slipping that had been occurring.

And finally, the third thing sort of doesn't matter, that the torque reduced, but it doesn't really matter as it still has well enough torque to overcome most obstacles (unless, as I said before, the grip fails).

I think it's about time for that diagram.

This may be a bit hard to understand, so let me explain it.

Firstly, the vehicle would be pointing to the Right

Secondly, the green shows how it used to be, with the smaller sprocket and further out front sprocket, and the red and orange being the current set up.
As you can see, the smaller green sprocket used to be it's driver, but it had to little grip on the tread, and so was replaced with the orange larger sprocket.

Thirdly, I must make a note that this is not accurate
It is only a diagram

However, if I can, I will be testing it tomorrow, and will take pics.

Ps. Just a heads up, my next big project is most likely to be a large model of the all terrain vehicle from the Halo™ series of games for the Xbox™ (which rocks), the Warthog, and may take a long time to build (aka. a month or two), which gives me a great opportunity to blag about it, day to day updates and all that.

Oh dear... I haven't posted in a while.... Ah well

I woke up on Saturday [at 8:00am[dunno why so early]] and look out the window to see WHITE EVERYWHERE

I then see my dog sniffing the snow [he had no clue what it was] and circling the house, admiring the blanket of pure white that lay all around

I, however, took to this weather slightly differently

Depriving myself of any food for hours, I send a text to my friend saying "Lego snowmobile competition, GOGOGO"

Damn right.

I set down to design my first model.

Original snowmobile design, thick tank-like tread at the back, steering ski'like things at the front;
It fails miserably.

I start on a new project, three powered back wheels,normal steering at the front;
Again, this fails miserably

I try a more basic approach.~
I build a simple tank with two powered tread, skid steering, with pins galore sticking out of the treads.....
Success!

-ish....

It does... alright, but isn't geared down enough, and fails at much more than 10 degree slopes... but if it does manage to climb up a slope, it topples over backwards...
The treads are also a bit unstable and tend to jump around the sprockets...

I then go over to my friend's house, and see he already has his prototype done, same as my first, but with better done steering, and a smaller back tread...

He tests it out for the first time...
The back tread starts to spin...
and sinks down into the snow.

I lol'd.

He is currently now making more surface area for the back tread.

I however, continued to upgrade...

I make wheels hanging from the back with shock absorbers, to stop it toppling;
I make the motor to sprocket speed ratio even lower, going from 5:3 to 5:1;
I make the run around the sprockets much more smooth, as well as making the gripping surface area much larger;
And just for show, I make a second pair of treads without the pins galore for smoother surfaces than snow...
I'll be testing it tomorrow, to see how well it goes, Pics will follow soon, once I find the webcam...

ohh it's midnight... zero o'clock...
always found that sorta scary... as if time doesn't exist any mo... oh, wait, it's one minute past.

Never mind

He's Gone...

Frank has left, leaving me, Ogden, to continue this blog. To many found out about the blog, and he couldn't risk the infamy. He has a death sentence on twelve systems.

I hope I don't bore you....
I bore most people....
In my Boring ways...
Like limestone...

The new Harry Potter movie is coming out soon. However, I don't like typing about things that will pass in a while.
Aka. In three months, no-one will find this interesting because they've all seen the Harry Potter movie...

Oh My GOD blogger doesn't recognise movie as a word! It doesn't even recognise blogger as a word!

That's just sad.

And the squiggly red lines are really....

Wait...

It recognises SQUIGGLY as a word....

But not movie...

Seriously?

Oh dear, I appear to be posting about the post I am subsequently going to post...

Am I still sane?

Ah, who cares?
No-one.
That's who cares.
People just say to themselves, 'If I don't think about him, he doesn't exist.'

Well, you're... Actually I have no idea if you're right or wrong.

However, if they are right then I don't exist...

But by thinking that, I just proved I do exist...
(Cogito ergo sum)

Yay for logic!

...

What was I typing about?

Probably something that no-one will find important.

No-one ever finds anything I have to say important.

It's quite frustrating.

My dad says I spend too much time on the computer.
He's probably correct from his own point of view.
Because it's all a matter of opinion...

Well, to me it is...

About That...

There is something I should probably make clear to you by now... I am not your average sentient being.
I have been living on the head of a irish secondary school student for the past while, disguising myself as hair.

So...

This student found out about my blog.
He may end up telling the world about me. This cannot happen.

However;
Though I cannot risk anyone finding this page, only one person would be smart enough to find it.
This one person is more of a threat than all of the others combined.
He has made SIX foolproof plans to find this page.

I may not be back for a long while.

Goodbye for now,

Frank

Quarks

So yeah, I've started my technology project. Basically, I have to make a rough terrain toy vehicle controlled by the user via wires/infra red/bluetooth, and I'm probably using infra red.
It's easy enough to wire up, and it's wireless, with a range of about 3-5 metres.

I really want to learn the piano part from Rhapsody in Blue. It's almost impossible, but I don't care. I'm going to learn it anyway. Nya!

Here's a scary thought - Base INFINITY. 10 would be infinity!
therefore ten minus one should be a definable number... And so infinity AND infinity minus one would both be definable!
Ghaa!

Yeah... I'm going to go now. Been real good talking to you. Typing to you. Typing. Ish. Or something...

Ps. Check out this song on subatomic particles. It's awesome!

Day 2

Well... The boredom increases.

I seriously have no idea what to type about (I almost said 'write about').
But at least I'm still here, rather than lost in a world that isn't really my own, ie. The real world.
I still think I should do something more constructive with my time. Or something. I don't know any more.

Is anybody actually out there? I hope so. I hope I don't end up typing all of this for no reason. That would be terrible.
Imagine spending your whole life typing and have nothing come from it.
I really hope there is someone out there, listening to our silent calls for help.

Like God, except more real.

Like the spaghetti monster, with all his noodly appendages, Or maybe the Captain, from firefly. That would be the most awesome god EVER.
Alas, fox cancelled that show, so we'll have to make do with other stuff and... what was I saying?

Anyway, I should probably go now... Wait, how would that work? I'm not here anyway, I just type stuff and it pops into existence in a blog somewhere in the blogosphere, and then no-one reads it.
But then if you're reading this, who am I to say that no-one is reading this? I just don't know any more.

I hope someone will read this someday....

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Er...Hi?

No-one knows I'm here. I feel so alone. Ah well. I'm sure I'll gather a few followers along the way.

Or not.

But that's ok. I don't mind. No, wait, I do. I mind a lot. But no-one knows I mind a lot.
What was the point in making this blog anyway?

I suppose I must have ust been very bored.
Or drunk.
But it doesn't matter now. All that really matters now is that I don't run out of things to say.

[cough]

No need to try to click it, it doesn't lead anywhere. Seriously, don't. It's not worth it.
What I've noticed over the years is that whenever you mention that you could run out of things to say, you actually end up running out of things to say.
Or something.
I'm not really listening to myself talk.
Or type.
Listening to typing?
tap, tap tap, tap, tap tap tap, tap tap, tap, tap tap tap.....
Anyway, Please do note that this is my first blog, and it has no real point, other than something to do when I'm bored. I don't expect you to love me already or anything like that.

Please tell me you love me.

Hello?
